From it’s humble beginnings as a small section at CES, the Expo now fills two exhibit halls all by itself. And for four straight days those exhibit halls were packed to the max. Where once the Expo was a place for porn companies to hawk their movies to retailers, it has now become a massive fan-based event with everyone from porn stars to strippers on hand to meet the fans and promote their movies and clubs. Sure porn industry business does continue to go on, but it is no longer the only motivation for the Expo.
The lower level exhibit hall featured the business-to-business section with booths dedicated to suppliers of products. This was the more mellow area. When you entered the upstairs exhibit hall you were met with pulsing music and throngs of people. The massive booths for Vivid, Hustler, Wicked and Red Light were the first thing that let you know this was not your mom and pop’s porn convention. And it didn’t stop there. There was a fire truck, an RV, putting greens, wrestling mats, and more, all designed to showcase the porn girls and promote the themes of their various movies.
And the Las Vegas strip clubs were represented in fine fashion as well. With Seamless, Sapphire and Spearmint Rhino all having giants booths with live entertainment. The only negative was that there was no nudity at the Expo, so the most anyone stripped down to were gstrings and pasties.
And there were all kinds of porn girls. From the new young starlets, to the hottest current stars, to the industry veterans, they were all on hand. Male stars Ron Jeremy and Randy West were there meeting their fans and signing autographs. Legends Sunset Thomas and Teri Weigel were also there, looking as hot as they ever did. Tera Patrick had her huge Teravision booth. And of course Jenna Jameson was there and a slew of other porn goddesses, as well. (See pictures). And no porn convention would be complete without Joey Buttafouco. Not sure what the hell he was doing there, but he was there.
The Expo truly has become an event not to be missed for both fans and people in the adult entertainment industry. It’s a great place to both meet porn stars and do business with them and their companies. And after the convention days ended at 6:30 each evening, the party just got started with private parties at nightclubs and strip clubs around Las Vegas. It all culminated on Saturday night with the AVN Awards, but for info on that you’ll have to check out the porn industry sites. (We recommend TonyBatman.com). That’s where our stripper territory ends!
